Query taking double the time from a client machine

We have part of the application always failing from a very long running query. We were able to extract a sample SQL to simulate the operation of that query and have found the following .. (this query is all insert statements of about 75,000 records)

1) When running the SQL from the DB machine (SQL2008R2/Windows2008R2) - 120 Seconds

2) When running the SQL from another machine (App server - Windows2003) - 230 Seconds. that client machine is in the same domain and same data center.

we ran the same setup as the above - but on the Testing domain machines - always getting 120 seconds from both cases. So, looks like something between that client machine and how it is ascessing the DB machine. Any suggestion where to look and how to identify where this is coming from ??
