Occasionally are computer connections to our main SQL server database application slows down for users all of a sudden and application freezes for several seocnds. Then everything is mostly fine for the rest of the day. I can see that the server had large amount of bandwidth taken up on it at the time and a small spike in CPU load at the same time. I am pretty sure the server is not doing this by itself and that someone is running a query or some other access to the database.
How can I monitor these connection to find out which user\computer is doing this. I am usually not there when it happens and it only lasts a shor t amount of time?
