We have randomly gotten a slow down in our backup speeds within our SAN connection. Two servers both running Windows Server 2008 Enterprise with SQL Server 2008 R2. Both are HP DL380 G7 servers physically connected to a SAN via iSCSI connections to both.
iSCSI 1 and iSCSI 2 connections are configured the same and at random on the night of 11/28 our backups went from 1,086 MB/S to 6 MB/S. Tested NICs and cannot find any true speed issues. This happens on the AdminSQL DB backup and the ProdSQL DB backup, all
other DBs appear to be fine in their speeds. Though they are not as large everything else appears to run as normal. Weekend full backups are taking close to 65 hours due to this sudden speed issue. Any thoughts?
