I'm using Sql Server 2008, and find that SQL Profiler trace filtering does not work as I expect for the TextData column when I attempt to use '%' sign as a wild card. If I paste the complete value of TextData in the "Not Like" options for filtering the Profiler output it works fine, also if I paste the beginning of the text preceded followed by '%' sign AND THE TextData VALUE IS ONLY ONE LINE LONG
However, it seems as if, when TextData value contains newlines, the filter doesn't work. I can't see any way to include newlines in my filter conditions, and I also would not have thought it necessary if filtering with wildcards before and after my text, but I know there are times when filter doesn't work, and my best guess as to why is the multiline contents of TextData.
Am I missing something? (Is there some way to filter multiline TextData values, or is there some other reason why filter might not be working as expected)?
Many thanks!
