I just Rebuilded one of the index, it took 100 GB space (the table is very big almost 100 GB), the DB is in Full Recovery model,
Before running the Rebuild index there was 125 GB of space, now the free GB is 80 GB
Now i need to Reclaim the space, i tried to shrink Data and log file, it released upto 60 GB. this is a test machine, i know we should not shrink the Data file.
When i tried to shrink it says Available space is '51080.81 MB (27%)', on trying to shrink it doesnt shrink. Log file is shrinked to 1 MB, it is only Data file that is not shrinking.
just wanted to know is there any other option we can claim the space with out taking the backup.
