sql 2008 r2: two cdc questions

hi folks,

i have two questions regarding CDC

1. are there any perfmon indicators for CDC?  if so, under what category are they in?  I thought they might be somewhere under replication but not seeing it.  Or is this pretty much it (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc645592.aspx#Monitor)

2. i'm planning to pull cdc data out of the database using a san snap.  So I plan to take a snap every 24 hours.  Mount this snap to our dedicated DBA server for data extraction.  my retention period is 1440mins or 1hour.  After the data extraction, I plan to have the ssis pkg call the clean up job.  Am I correct that it will only delete 24hrs worth of info?
