I don't know is this good forum or not, but I searched and nothing came back on this topic. We have application which customer would like to rent it on their own hardware and their own windows server license.
We already using ISV type of licensing and it is pretty much straight forward when customer is looking to purchase whole solution. However, we have several customer now which would like to rent apps (heavy duty apps for LOB, client/server) instead of purchasing it.
My questions are:
- can we actually run SPLA license like this where we bundle MSSQL CAL with our CAL and sell it as service while whole stuff is installed on customer's premises, on their own hw and possible their own windows licence?
- If yes, does this goes as well for Windows Server ?
