SQL '08 R2 SP1 MSDB marked as SUSPECT

The drive our SCCM sql database resides on went south earlier in the week.  I recreated the drive (Vmware VM) and we restored the data from our back up software (commvault).  However when I try to open the database in the Management studio I get a notice that the MSDB has been marked as suspect.  I'm not at all a database guy, but I am reponsible for the SCCM server.  I've tried a few things with no luck.  I tried the steps in this first off I tried the steps here I couldn't get that to work, it never recreated the MSDB files.  This I found this posting, which I thought sounded like a better chance of sucess.  I do have a SQL server that was set up for something else that isn't being used, the SQL set up on is a brand new install with no data in it.  So how would I go about backing up the data in my old sql server to the new server and having it recreate the msdb files?  I can't even get it to see the databases on the server because the msdb is in recovery mode.
