SQL Server limits rows added to a table

Hi,

I need to append over 50 million rows to a table in a database.  Problem is, as soon as it reaches 3.6 million rows, it just stops inserting rows.  There is no error raised.  We have to manually check to see how many rows were actually added.

I've set the auto-growth to unrestricted (or 2TB, as SQL Server defaults to that).  But it still won't insert any more rows after 3.6 million rows.  The log file is about 23 GB while the database itself is 4 GB.

Does anyone know what is going on?  Appreciate any suggestion.
