SQL 2008 Total Server Memory issue

Hi together,

I browsing the web since days but I dont find a post with my issue.

I hope you guys can take a look and give me a hint.

We have a SQL 2008 cluster (Version 10.50.1600). People are complaining about the performance so I checked the Total Server Memory usage and the Target Server Memory usage. Thats when I started beeing confused...

System: 64 Bit, 16Gb memory

SQL: max server memory 13500MB, min server memory 6000MB, no AWE

Perfmon: Total Ser. Mem.: 30,848KB, Target Ser. Mem.: 3,618,752KB

The sys.dm_os_process_memory tells me that physical_memory_in_use_kb is "14610816"

Thats why im confused. The Server uses 30MB, would like to have 3.6GB but he has 13.5GB?! If so, why does it not take more memory?

Thanks for the help

Dennis
