We had this situation in one of the development BI Server. The DEV DBA restarted the SQL Server. One of the database was recovered and checkdb was completed. But we could not access this database. When checked in activity monitor there was a background session (Session ID < 50) and the command its performing is ' DB Startup' for this DB. But in SQL Server error log check db has been completed successfully. He tried several things and atlast did couple of restarts and all the time this happened. Finally he had no choice but to delete the database and restore from the production. I am not sure what happened. Did anyone have similar experience?
The version is SQL Server 2008 and Build No is 10.0.2531.
