Greetings,
I'm new to SQL Server, I was studying about table partition, I am not able to understand how the left and right functions work, I went through many sites but not clear. Also when defining a partition for a table there is no way to mention on which column the table is going to be partitioned where as other RDBMS like DB2 lets you to partition tables based on particular column. Let me know how to understand the partitioning feature in SQL Server properly.
